New River Valley Regional Commission outlines Pearisburg comprehensive plan kickoff; special meeting set

Citizen Dane Scow asked about community meeting logistics; Carroll responded that public meetings and focus groups will be scheduled and staff will assist with outreach.
Following the presentation, Councilmember Kristi Eaton moved to set a Special Meeting for Jan. 27, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers to discuss the Comprehensive Plan; the motion passed unanimously, 7-0. Town Manager Adam Poser said the Town intends to maximize public engagement and collect input from Pearisburg residents.
What happens next: NRVRC and Town staff will schedule public meetings and focus groups as part of the Comprehensive Plan process and will hold the special Council meeting on Jan. 27.
