Council approves minutes and financials, tables Maryland investment-pool report

Clerk summarized motions at the meeting’s close: a motion to approve the March 2, 2026 minutes (made by council member Dame and seconded by council member Morales) passed after a voice vote; a motion to approve the March 16 minutes (made by council member Dame and seconded by council member Banks) passed after a correction to scholarship dates; a motion to accept the February financials (made by council member Banes and seconded by council member Dain) was approved "subject to audit." The council also voted to table the Maryland Local Investment Pool report; that motion was made by council member Baines and seconded by council member Dame.
Treasurer Dorothy Washington reported balances as of Feb. 28, 2026: Trust savings $157,896.83, CIP $112,144.06, ARPA $125,391.24 and general fund $1,493,193.21. Washington said the Maryland Local Investment Pool statement had not yet arrived and would be reported at the next meeting when available.
The council also announced a fiscal-year 2027 budget-preparation workshop for Saturday, April 18 at 9 a.m. at the town office; a closed session will follow to discuss the town manager vacancy.
