Geneva-on-the-Lake council approves emergency street and parking closures for summer events

Spencer Drive to allow bike parking and a closure for a bike event concert from June 27–28, 2026 (parking spaces listed in the resolution as 54845468); declared an emergency and approved. - Resolution 2026-40: Authorizes closure of Green Lantern Drive from 8 a.m. July 12 to 8 a.m. July 13, 2026, for the Veteran’s Concert; declared an emergency and approved. - Resolution 2026-41: Authorizes restriction of parking and/or street closures for the Penn Ohio ATCA Truck Show on July 11, 2026; declared an emergency and approved. - Resolution 2026-42: Restricts parking to motorcycles and vehicles displaying a state disability tag on a strip of Lake Road from Sept. 10–13, 2026 (from 5609 Lake Road to 5243 Lake Road); motion approved. - Resolution 2026-43: Authorizes closure of Green Lantern Drive July 26–28 for the KISS benefit concert; declared an emergency and approved.
Procedurally, Macchia was consistently the mover and Caudill the seconder for emergency and three-reading-waiver motions; all recorded roll calls were unanimous in favor. The council did not record any recorded no votes, abstentions, or recusals for these items.
What happens next: the emergency declarations allow village staff and the named officials to finalize traffic control, parking restrictions and enforcement for the listed events.
