Mayor Kim Leonard said Peachtree City enjoyed what she called its "best yet" July 4 celebration, with a morning parade and a 4th Fest at Drake Field featuring live music, food trucks, drones and fireworks. "I honestly think it was our best yet," she said.
The mayor announced the parade contest winners, awarding the Grand Marshal's trophy to Dirty South Strength and Conditioning, the Mayor's trophy to Peachtree City Hockey, Most Creative to Air Heat America and Most Patriotic to Better Way Ministries. She said the Spirit of Peachtree City Award went to the Peachtree City dog park and thanked recreation and public safety staff and other organizers who spent months planning the events.
The remarks were delivered as a recap of recent community events; no formal council action was announced in these remarks. The mayor invited residents to note the city's efforts and acknowledged staff time spent preparing and running the celebrations.
