The Dartmouth Planning Board voted on July 13 to allow the planning director to sign routine department expenses under a $1,000 threshold and to sign the accounting department’s authorization form required after a recent audit.
Planner Dan said the accounts department requested a formal, signed threshold amount that would allow department staff to process minor expenses — such as office supplies or advertising — without bringing each invoice to the board. The board discussed a standard threshold and agreed $1,000 was reasonable for most routine needs.
The motion passed with assent from members present. Board members will sign the accounting form in person so the planner can provide it to town accounting.
