The Pines Association board read and approved a regular meeting schedule for 2025 that included the following dates read into the record: Sept. 20, Oct. 25, Nov. 22, Dec. 20; Jan. 24, Feb. 28, Mar. 28, Apr. 25, May 30, June 27, and July 25 (the transcript contains a small ambiguity in the July line). The board also noted it would schedule executive council and other required meetings as needed.
Board members announced liaison assignments across committees. The transcript lists Stuart Lachernick for strategic planning; Jeff (surname varies in the record) for elections, environment, recreation and parks; Colleen Brady for parks and communications; Rick (surname rendered inconsistently) for aquatics; Monica Rakowski for budget and finance; Steve Jacobs for bylaws and golf; and John Latham for marine activities.
Members discussed changing meeting nights during summer months to improve attendance and reduce conflict with clubhouse activity. "Getting to the clubhouse on a Saturday and having to deal with the noise of the golf and everything else is a bit of a pain in the neck," one board member said, urging the board to revisit the schedule in January. Another board member said the association's residents should be able to see board business conducted in person at Ocean Pines, expressing concern about moving too many meetings to weeknights during summer.
The board agreed to revisit the timing of meetings at the start of the year and did not adopt a permanent change at this session.
