Architect’s draft puts Brookville renovation 'north of $13 million,' board told

Meyer said she had reviewed about half of the architects' draft and expected the firm to present their full feasibility findings at the board's May work session. "The estimation is kind of where I expected it, which is north of $13,000,000," she said, adding that the figure could change depending on the board's decisions about the building.
Meyer told the board much of the projected cost reflects state (VDOE) building requirements and the cost of bringing the building up to current building and Americans with Disabilities Act standards. She said architects identified minor square-footage corrections and that the draft report can be provided to board members ahead of the May presentation.
The update also included a schedule note: county work on related legal matters is under way with the county attorney and a move related to county registrar affairs was being targeted for January 2026, per Meyer.
No action was taken; the item was presented as informational and the board scheduled the architects to present methodology and numbers at a future work session.
