The Marlborough Board of Education received a superintendent candidate Leadership Profile from CABE search consultant Dr. Mary Broderick at a special meeting on July 9 in the Elmer Thienes-Mary Hall Elementary School library annex. Dr. Broderick distributed hard copies of the report to board members and described the methods used to develop it.
The profile, she said, was developed using input from multiple community and staff focus groups and an online survey completed by school staff and community members; she noted participation in the focus groups was limited and that the online survey provided additional input that was incorporated into the report. Broderick said the Leadership Profile will be posted on the Marlborough Public Schools website under the District tab, in the Superintendent Search section, for public access.
The Leadership Profile sets out candidate qualities and district priorities that will guide the board’s upcoming superintendent search. Board members received the report and hard copies at the meeting; no formal vote on the profile is recorded in the minutes. The agenda included a scheduled public comment period; the minutes record that there were no public comments at this meeting.
