Sheridan council reviews Town Hall remodel estimates, pool and pavilion timelines, and fire department update

Mayor Stump reported bids for windows and ADA upgrades at Town Hall and the need for plumbing and electrical estimates; the Park District and SCCF provided updates on a pool lining and pavilion and Sheridan Days (July 17–20), and the fire department reported moving into a new building after responding to four calls.
Mayor Robert Stump told the council the town has received a couple of bids for replacement windows and that work will be needed to make a bathroom ADA-compliant; the mayor said estimates for plumbing, electrical work and moving the front door will inform next steps on a Town Hall remodel.
Clerk/Treasurer Kristi Milhouse said she has begun FY2026 budget planning and identified capital candidates including a trenching box and Town Hall remodel; she also reported cash reconciliation is consistently off by the same amount for three months and that the audit is in progress with an adjustment expected.
Corey Theis reported for the Park District that the pool lining project is planned for this fall or when the pool closes; the district awarded funding to three projects and has two applications still completing bids. Kaylie Theis, reporting for the Sheridan Community Charitable Foundation, said the pavilion work is targeted to be finished before Sheridan Days (July 17–20) and that the SCCF will meet May 4 for a timeline update; park benches are scheduled to be placed around April 23.
Fire Department Chief Jeff Gerth reported the volunteer roster has 17 members, the department handled four calls (three lift assists and one assist to Twin Bridges) with 23 responders across the incidents, and the department has moved into its new building. Mayor Stump invited the council to the rural fire district board meeting the next evening at the new station.
Council members took no final votes on remodel scope or capital expenditures at this meeting; further estimates and budget work were scheduled as part of FY2026 planning.
