Zoning commission vacancy tabled after resident objects to survey representativeness

Curtis Green moved to table the appointment to the next meeting and Tammy Todd seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
During the zoning report, Patricia Wang argued the recent survey should not be relied upon because she believes most respondents were over 65 and therefore not representative of the town. "She felt the survey should not be used because the majority of the people responding were over sixty-five and that does not represent the public," the minutes record.
Dennis Holschbach asked whether the commission had explored enforcement mechanisms. Jan Bowey responded that enforcement is ultimately a council decision and said the commission is looking at cooperating with neighboring towns to obtain a judge for enforcement matters; no enforcement action or timeline was decided at the meeting.
The council did not appoint a replacement at this meeting and tabled the item for the next regular meeting so the vacancy can be publicly advertised and the commission can continue work on zoning outlines.
