Sheridan council appoints Mike Walter to study commission and approves outsourcing billing to InfoSend

At its April 14 meeting, the Town of Sheridan council unanimously appointed Mike Walter to the Local Government Study Commission to replace Claire Leonard. Tammy Todd moved for the appointment, Diane Kaatz seconded, and the motion passed. Mike Walter subsequently took the oath of office.
The council also approved switching the town’s water and sewer bill processing and mailing to InfoSend. Clerk/Treasurer Kristi Milhouse told the council the change would save approximately $874 a year and reduce the five to six hours she typically spends prepping and mailing bills each cycle. "There is an annual savings of $874 savings to switch to Info Send processing the bills and mailing," Kristi said. Jan Bowey moved to adopt InfoSend; Diane Kaatz seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote.
The council approved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting without discussion. The newly appointed study commission member will join the group preparing community outreach about local government structure; the council did not place any conditions on the appointment.
