The Village of Marble Cliff Council voted April 21 to adopt an emergency ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter into a contract with Johnson Controls for professional security-system upgrades, plus maintenance and monitoring services for a three-year term with annual renewals.
Council suspended the rules and passed O-2731-25 as an emergency to expedite the contract. Council member Kendy A. Troiano moved to approve the ordinance as an emergency and Council member Joanne C. Taylor seconded. The clerk recorded a roll-call vote with President Dow T. Voelker, Matthew R. Jolson, Bridget B. Sarna, Joanne C. Taylor, Marcia A. Thomas and Kendy A. Troiano all voting yes; the motion passed unanimously.
Fiscal Officer Stephanie A. Evans had introduced O-2731-25 at first reading earlier in the meeting as part of a package of ordinances. Council also voted earlier to suspend the rules before taking the emergency adoption vote. The ordinance authorizes the mayor to execute the agreement for purchase and installation of security system upgrades and the related maintenance and monitoring services for a period of three years, with annual renewal options noted in the ordinance.
Council did not provide a detailed cost breakdown in the meeting record; the ordinance was adopted with the emergency designation and will be executed by the mayor and fiscal officer per the language introduced. The village will publish the executed contract and any required procurement documentation in accordance with local procedures.
