Afton police chief asks council to budget about $18,000 for E-Force software

Afton Police Chief Jason Romberg told the Town Council on Jan. 10 that the department has received approved overtime grant funds and that he will update the department’s policy manual.
Romberg described E-Force software that would connect Afton officers to a shared database used by area police departments and said the connection is a safety issue for officers. He told the council the cost is approximately $18,000 and asked that the town consider budgeting that amount in the upcoming fiscal-year budget.
Council members thanked the chief for his work and said they would consider the budget request as they prepare next year’s budget. No formal vote or appropriation was taken at the meeting.
