The Town Council voted on several parks and facilities items at the May 5 meeting, approving expenditures to advance site work planned for June.
Council approved a motion to accept the lowest playground mulch bid and authorize up to $10,500 to install play-safe mulch to a 6-inch depth, with invoicing to occur in June. The motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
Councilmember JP Hess recommended B&B Flooring Company for replacement of Town Hall flooring at a cost of $18,273.98. The council voted to transfer $4,300 from Haunted Trail funds, $3,000 from Homes Tour funds, and $2,500 from the Clifton Gala FY26 allocation to cover part of the flooring cost, and then approved the B&B Flooring bid by roll call.
Separately, Mayor Lynn Screen moved to approve up to $500 for stump grinding in Harris Park; the motion was seconded and approved by poll 6–0.
Councilmembers indicated these actions are intended to use available FY26 funds and to keep maintenance work on schedule; the playground work was presented as a priority to complete in June to ensure safety for park users.
