Post Falls Planning and Zoning Commission approves consent calendar, outlines 14‑day appeal window

The Post Falls Planning and Zoning Commission on July 14 voted unanimously to approve its consent calendar, accepting four items including meeting minutes and the reason decision in the Tamarack Mountain Homes appeal (file APL26Dash1).

The action came after staff announced the consent items and a commissioner asked whether the commission’s decision on the Tamarack Mountain Homes appeal could be appealed further. "So just so I understand, on an appeal like that, it doesn't go any further than us...Is that correct?" the commissioner asked. Staff responded that if someone chooses to appeal the commission's decision, "they could would go through the same process at the council level" and noted an appeal period of "14 days after tonight." Chair moved to approve the consent calendar "as presented," and the commission carried the motion in a roll-call vote. The vote was recorded as unanimous: Carey, Kimball, Stephenson, Schlotauer, Schreiber, Wilhelm and Flock all voting yes. The motion and vote closed the consent portion of the agenda without further debate.

The consent calendar included meeting minutes from June 9, June 18 and June 30 and the reason decision for the Tamarack Mountain Homes appeal, listed in the record as APL26Dash1. Staff summarized that future scheduling for public hearings and agenda items will be coordinated by the community development section, with items expected on August and subsequent agendas as needed.

There were no members of the public who spoke during the citizen issues portion, and staff reported no administrative updates. Chair called for commissioner comments and then adjourned the meeting.
