Board approves purchase of 25 iPads from technology millage and previews May renewal campaign

On Oct. 1, 2025, the Mason Consolidated Schools Board approved the purchase of 25 Apple iPads and protective cases for the elementary school at a total cost of $25,373.75, to be paid from the Technology Enhancement Millage Funds.
The purchase was approved on a motion by John Waller, supported by Chandra Fowler; the motion carried 4-0. The superintendent also told the board that district leaders will ask Monroe County voters in May to renew the longstanding Technology Millage that funds classroom technology and related equipment.
In related business the board approved travel for Abby Kohler to the Michigan World Language Conference (Oct. 23–24) and Courtney Hammond to the MSBO Facilities and Operations Conference (Oct. 5–7). The superintendent highlighted an upcoming Nov. 3 staff session with Dr. Dana Schon on strategies to address stress and energy for staff, hosted by Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
Board members did not record further debate on the purchase; the minutes show the purchase was funded from the millage and approved as part of regular action items.
