Council approves $15,000 allocation breakdown to cover July 4 parade security

Parks Director Lina Hicks told the council the resolution would allocate $8,500 for parade barriers to line the route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff and $4,000 to the Chamber of Commerce to hire security and event staff. Hicks said the $15,000 was already authorized by council in a prior meeting and the resolution breaks out how the funds will be spent.
Council moved to approve the resolution, a motion was seconded and the council approved the measure by voice vote.
What this means: The funds will be used for physical barriers, additional city staff overtime and Chamber‑hired security to support the July 4 parade and associated public‑safety staffing. The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute an amendment to the service agreement with the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce to effectuate the $4,000 payment.
