Commissioners adopt resolution to allow alternative procurement for jail repairs at Daviess County Security Center

County Attorney Grant Swartzentruber described the resolution as adopting Indiana Code section 5-23 (transcribed in the minutes as “523”), which he said provides an additional procurement tool beyond the standard design–bid–build process and can allow guaranteed maximum price arrangements. "Once this resolution is adopted, it will give the county flexibility on how the county can proceed and allows to have a guaranteed maximum price," Swartzentruber said.
The commissioners approved the resolution unanimously; Sheriff Allison asked that the bid process begin on plumbing and boiler projects at the security center. Commissioner Michael Keith praised staff for cleanup efforts after the storm and thanked personnel for their work.
