"He did an incredible job... he figured this thing out... and we are awarded a $111,375," Scott said, crediting a staff member who prepared the application.
Why it matters: the award materially reduced the district's capital outlay for the solar project and improves early savings; trustees said the work also offers classroom and STEM learning opportunities across campuses.
Scott noted the timing was critical and the window to claim these credits may close. He also said multiple campuses now have solar installations and the district has been contacted by other districts and national groups seeking guidance on the process.
The board did not take separate action on the solar award at the meeting; administration said work on outreach and tracking savings will continue and that the district will share lessons learned with peer districts.
