One supervisor noted the State Public Defender's Office had remote positions in Council Bluffs with higher posted salaries ($90,000–$135,000), and the board discussed whether the county salary would remain competitive. A motion to advertise for the county attorney opening was made, seconded and approved.
No final salary adjustment was adopted at the meeting; supervisors said they hoped to attract applicants despite regional competition and asked staff to proceed with the advertised posting.
