The Chichester Heritage Commission voted at its May 21 meeting to approve spending up to $150 for soil and flowers for Main Street planters, with a voluntary Garden Club agreeing to take over ongoing care of the flower tub near the fire station.
The commission scheduled the planter work and flower purchase for May 30 at 10:00 a.m. Commissioners also discussed a boundary issue with a neighbor on the greenspace where several dead trees need removal; Lucille Noel said she would call Jeremy on the select board and Treasurer Robin said she would call Joe, the road agent, to see if the road crew could remove the trees.
Members also raised concerns about a possible leak in the gazebo roof; the commission noted an earlier assessment letter from Frank Lemay and agreed to determine whether the roof is currently leaking. Joyce Lemay said she would check whether a flag she has fits the gazebo and would buy a new flag if it does not.
The motion to spend up to $150 for soil and flowers was approved; meeting minutes do not record a mover, seconder, or roll-call tally.
