On safety, staff described a renewed approach to drills and training, saying the district is using a Department of Justice model that aims for preparation without trauma: "No tears. No fear," the staff member said, adding that middle and high school drills include more maturity-level information than elementary drills. The meeting closed with a motion to adjourn and direction to convene the district annual meeting at 6:00 p.m.
