Landover Hills council reviews suggested town charter edits; public review requested ahead of October workshop

The Landover Hills Town Council received an initial review of proposed edits to the town charter at its Sept. 9 workshop and agreed to continue vetting the changes ahead of the October meeting.
Town Attorney Karen Ruff walked the council through suggested language changes, additions and deletions to the charter. After questions and discussion, the council asked members to review the draft and to forward any questions to Ruff so the item can be discussed again at the October workshop.
Among procedural adjustments discussed during the meeting were a suggested wording change to the Town Manager job description — replacing 'other duties as assigned' with 'other duties as necessary' — and a request to add a monthly Town Manager's Report to regular council meetings. No formal action was taken on charter amendments at the workshop.
Next steps: councilmembers will submit questions and comments to the town attorney, and the charter review will return to the October workshop for additional consideration.
