Court approves $366,000 LARP agreement, adds Haley's Way to county road system and OKs road patch purchase

Pulaski County Fiscal Court on July 15 approved multiple transportation items, including a Local Assistance Road Program (LARP) agreement for $366,000 in state funds, the addition of Haley's Way into the county road system and purchases to support routine maintenance.

Under the LARP resolution the court listed the roads covered by the state funds: Hudson Road, Sydney Drive, Clark Road, Chapel Way, Ozark Road, Snead Road, Lakeview Road and Mounts Road. The chair asked the judge/executive to sign the agreement and resolution so the county could accept the state money and proceed with the planned resurfacing work.

The court also voted to add Haley's Way, a 656-foot spur off Slate Branch, to the county-maintained road network following a public hearing. Two commissioners were assigned to inspect a separate proposed addition (Pin Oak Drive near the Hendrickson plant at Valley Oak) before bringing it formally into the county system.

For maintenance the court authorized the road department to purchase 1,500 tons of road patch material to be distributed among all five districts and approved the submitted annual road list.

Motions were made and carried by voice vote on each item; specific movers and seconders were recorded in the meeting minutes for each motion. The court did not set construction dates during the session; next steps include contract procurement or bidding for LARP-funded work and administrative steps to add Haley's Way formally to county records.

What happens next: county staff will process the LARP agreement paperwork, schedule any required bids or contracts for resurfacing, complete inspections for Pin Oak Drive and execute the purchase orders for road patch material.
