Landover Hills council doubles scholarship pool, raises per-recipient award limit

Town Manager Rommel Pazmino proposed raising the scholarship pool from $2,000 to $4,000. Mayor Jeffrey Schomisch entertained a motion; Councilmember Joe Williams moved to increase the pool and Councilmember Todd Over seconded. The minutes record that all present voted in favor and the motion carried. Past practice noted in the minutes is that an applicant could receive up to $1,000; the change permits award amounts up to $2,000 per recipient.
