Members of Norseman Robotics Team 3688 provided a demonstration of their robot at the June 8 meeting and described the program’s history, recent accomplishments, and expected expenses for the coming season. Team members reported approximately $27,500 in spending during the 2025 season and projected a budget of up to $62,500 for 2026, including travel and competition costs associated with advancing to State and World Championship competitions.
On a motion by Jamie Scripps, supported by Ben Hale, the board approved $5,000 in funding for the team for the upcoming school year. Board members noted that additional funding could be considered in the future if needs arise.
The funding decision supports the district’s extracurricular robotics program and its competitive participation; the team indicated the award would help cover immediate season costs. The board recorded the motion as carried 6-0.
