At its June 25 meeting the Eliot Select Board appointed Merra Howe as a full member of the Eliot Conservation Commission for a term beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2029. Howe introduced herself as an Eliot resident and a wildlife biologist employed by a nonprofit in Portland.
The Board also completed its annual round of reappointments. Members unanimously reappointed boards and committees including the Eliot Aging In Place Committee and the Eliot Agriculture and Food Security Committee through June 30, 2027, and reappointed Kari Moore and Lisa Wise to the Conservation Commission through June 30, 2029. The Board reappointed Carmela Braun and Karina Hlynka to terms ending June 30, 2031 and confirmed Town Manager appointments as presented.
In addition, the Board unanimously accepted the administrative duties outlined in Section 2-80 of the Eliot Code of Ordinances as presented. The Board approved a consent calendar to accept Payroll Warrants #105 totaling $79,889.22 and Accounts Payable Warrants #AP061126 totaling $1,022,585.64. All recorded motions were approved by roll call votes with unanimous support.
