Other items: Trustees discussed park maintenance — the Lions Park walking path will remain gravel/grass through the fall and be revisited in spring, and Fireman's Park requires repairs and reseeding in rutted areas caused by heavy rains and event vehicle traffic. Public works staff updated the board that the Miller Street water main project is underway and that an on-site change moved the installation toward the centerline to improve future locateability; staff also said contractor-related missed garbage pickup would be remedied the following day.
The board also directed the village attorney to draft amendments to the food truck ordinance — changes discussed included where applications are submitted (clerk's office versus other location) and adjusted allowable hours for vendors to accommodate earlier-serving coffee trucks. In other business trustees announced the village had been awarded a $22,500 retail crime grant from the Office of the Attorney General for use in fiscal 2027.
The board recessed into executive session later in the meeting to review prior executive session minutes and to discuss personnel matters.
