University of Maryland students present Landover Hills business directory and three ward-boundary options

University of Maryland students presented a Business Directory booklet and a separate ward-boundary analysis to the Landover Hills Town Council via Zoom on Dec. 16, 2024. The student team described about eight business categories in the directory and said they identified several inconsistencies that they will correct before delivering a final version for printing and posting on the town website.
The students also outlined three options for reorganizing ward boundaries within Landover Hills. According to the presentation, the options are intended to create a more systematic ward layout that could simplify voting administration and other town decision-making processes. The students did not provide final maps in the minutes; the council received the presentation materials for further review.
Mayor Jeffrey Schomisch and council members listened to the presentations and will receive the corrected directory files. The students said they would finalize the booklet and submit the updated files to the town for printing and online distribution. The council did not take formal action on the ward-boundary options during the meeting; any map changes would require later review and formal steps.
