Council reviews Prince George’s County tax differential credit changes, notes key dates

At the Landover Hills Town Council workshop on Aug. 5, Mayor Jeffrey Schomisch reviewed packet materials describing proposed changes to Prince George’s County Tax Differential Credits. Schomisch said the county is adding a Public Works Engineering tax credit and is adjusting credits to provide additional relief for smaller municipalities. He said the Fire and Emergency Credit would not affect Landover Hills.
Schomisch also outlined the county timeline: a presentation to municipalities on Oct. 4, municipal submissions for the tax differential due Nov. 4, and the county’s responses to municipalities by Dec. 6. The mayor said the slide presentation summarizing the changes was included in the meeting packet for the council’s consideration; no formal action was taken at the workshop.
