Julie Bulmer, speaking on behalf of the Pearland High School band and the Pearland Band Booster Club, urged the council to help the band finance a trip to New York City after the group was selected to march in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“This is an incredible honor and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students,” Bulmer said, noting that more than 500 students participate in the program and that transporting instruments will require “multiple truck drivers and two 18-wheelers.” She invited the council and residents to attend a music-bingo fundraiser, Start Spreadin’ the Tunes, on July 31 and thanked officials who already purchased VIP tables or pledged support.
Bulmer identified the Booster Club’s website (pearlandband.org) and social media as donation and information channels. The council did not take action on the fundraising appeal; it was recorded during the public‑comment period.
