"This request for allocating $212,000 to replace sinks, showers, and toilet fixtures," Stockter said, adding the county received multiple vendor quotes and that the $212,000 covers the low quote plus a contingency for unforeseen issues.
A commissioner asked how many units would be affected; Stockter replied, "I do not know that number off top of my head," and later estimated the dorm holds "close to a 100 people." Stockter said the retrofit funding was recommended from TABT rather than the sheriff’s construction budget because the new‑dorm construction budget is already fully allocated.
The motion to allocate the funds was moved and seconded and placed on the consent calendar for the board to consider. The committee did not record a roll‑call vote in the transcript.
Next steps include procurement and contract awards consistent with the county’s purchasing rules and later reporting to the board when contracts are finalized.
