Trustee Wiederholt moved and Trustee Seifert seconded the motion to propose the $917,773 levy; the motion carried. The board then approved the proposed 2026 budget for publication and set a public hearing on Dec. 2, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. to receive public comment on the budget.
The levy figure represents the State-authorized limit of $904,273 plus a prior-year unused-levy adjustment of $13,500 that the board opted to apply. Johnson presented the calculations supporting the figure and the board discussed the implications during budget deliberations earlier in the fall.
The budget approval starts the legally required public-notice period; copies of the proposed budget will be made available at least 15 days before the Dec. 2 hearing. No immediate reductions or amendments to the proposed spending plan were made at the meeting; the hearing will be the next opportunity for the public and trustees to question specific line items.
The board’s action to set the levy and publish the budget follows routine municipal budget scheduling and will be finalized after the public hearing and any further board decisions.
