County and town officials report abatement, sheriff updates, animal-control contact and Mountain speed study

Richard Heath, Oconto County administrator, recapped work by the Oconto County Abatement Steering Committee and provided an update on the county highway facility, and noted he will be taking vacation later in April. Andrew Stemp, chairperson of the Town of Doty, referenced Jon Spice of Oconto County Emergency Management and mentioned the retirement of Doty’s fire chief. NOCCO committee chair Jim Zittlow reported work on ordinances at the committee’s April session and said the next NOCCO meeting is expected in late July.
The meeting approved the agenda and minutes by voice motions and carried those items; Chairperson Jim Zittlow called for adjournment at 7:42 p.m. The next Seven Towns meeting is scheduled for July 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Town of Townsend.
