The Bibb County Regular School District board authorized payment to the lowest responsible bidder for painting projects at the district bus shop and several schools, subject to state approval, for an amount not to exceed $625,000 to be paid from A and T funds.
The motion to approve the contract was followed by clarifying questions from Member (speaker 4) about differences from the original bid specifications. Member (speaker 4) asked whether the district should rebid after spec changes; Member (speaker 2) explained that bidders had been given additional time because ADA compliance spaces were added to the scope and that the district planned to proceed once the state approves the low bidder.
The chair confirmed that the action was an authorization to pay the lowest responsible bidder subject to state approval and to use A and T funds for payment. The board approved the authorization by voice vote.
