Selectmen approve $407,449.82 in vouchers; questions raised about key fobs and extinguisher inspections

The Board of Selectmen voted on July 7 to approve a set of vouchers totaling $407,449.82. Sherri Vogt moved to approve Voucher #1714 ($49,442.30), Voucher #1715 ($56.38), Voucher #1716 ($4,305.66), Voucher #1717 ($124.41) and Voucher #1008 ($353,521.07); Kayla Burgess seconded and the motion passed.
Board members paused to question Voucher #1714’s amount, noting it included charges for seven new key fobs; First Selectman Joe Bellavance said he will check with the Highway Foreman to clarify the purchase. Members also discussed the fee for inspection of fire extinguishers at town buildings. No changes to the vouchers were made and all were approved for payment.
The board also noted administrative items: Mark Masopust will not renew his term on the Zoning Board of Appeals, leaving a vacancy the board asked the public to help fill. Bellavance said Randi Frank and her search team are proceeding with the Town Administrator search and that the formal search committee will include three Selectmen, two Board of Finance members and two Town Governance Committee members; he will submit a request to appoint those members.
S. Vogt moved to adjourn at 5:41 p.m.; K. Burgess seconded and the meeting adjourned. No further board votes were recorded.
