The Cameron County Board of Commissioners set a public hearing on a proposed wind-turbine ordinance for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, to be held at the Cameron County Courthouse. The chair announced the date and time and noted the hearing location could shift depending on courtroom schedules.
A commissioner said county offices checked whether copies of the full ordinance had been reviewed and reported that no one had stopped by to review it, suggesting limited public pre-review. “No one has,” the commissioner said when asked if staff or the public had examined the full ordinance. The chair said attendance was uncertain and that the hearing venue would depend on court activity that day.
The meeting record also lists a special 2026 budget meeting scheduled for Dec. 30 at noon and the county reorganizational meeting on Jan. 5, 2026 at 11 a.m., both at the courthouse.
