Commissioners finalize budget work, approve 2% COLA and several grants and resolutions

The commission retroactively adopted Resolution No. 2025-11 to amend CDBG contract C000082287 because the amendment deadline fell between meetings. The chair requested and the commission approved the retroactive adoption by voice vote.
Commissioners also approved a juvenile probation services grant award for $40,427 to help cover salary costs for juvenile probation officers and the chief probation officer; that motion passed by voice vote. The commission approved a standard resolution certifying municipal local match for state operating assistance to the area transportation authority for FY2026–2027 (Resolution No. 2025-12) as standard business.
The Chair noted county staff will coordinate reimbursements and safety-committee grant reimbursements of about $18,000 through insurance for some year-end expenses and flagged a special meeting scheduled on Dec. 30 to formally adopt the county budget.
