SRO describes safety upgrades; board adopts revised Emergency Operations Plan

School resource officer Bill Rollins briefed the Mason Consolidated Schools Board on recent safety and security work, including new equipment, staff training, building modifications, the placement of go-bags in every classroom and regular practice drills.
District leaders said they have engaged Lockout USA to complete additional safety assessments for spaces not covered in the initial round, specifically stadium and athletic field areas. The board subsequently approved a revised Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) to reflect recent changes and practices; the EOP approval was recorded 4-0.
Rollins’s update and the EOP approval were presented as part of the board’s broader review of operations and safety. Administrators also noted related conversations with operations staff and contractors to implement assessment recommendations.
