The Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education on Sept. 3 introduced two new teachers, announced recent staff hires and approved routine business including the consent agenda and a personnel action.
The board welcomed new teachers Traci Fackelman and Karen DuRocher. The superintendent’s personnel report noted that Joey Cusumano has been hired as a Level 1 Tech and has already started, and that Nichole Wright will begin as Accounting Assistant on Sept. 15.
Under Action, the board approved the recommendation to hire the Middle School Physical Education/District Athletic Director on a motion by Smith, supported by England; that motion carried 4-0. The consent agenda — including the Aug. 6, 2025 meeting minutes and the August 2025 check register — was approved on a motion by England, supported by Nehrig and carried 4-0. The minutes indicate the monthly financial report item had been removed from the agenda earlier in the meeting.
During the superintendent’s report the board celebrated a smooth start to the school year and highlighted spring assessment results showing areas of growth. Deputy Rollins and administration said they are reviewing elementary parent pick up and drop off procedures for campus safety and traffic flow. President Otting announced the next regular meeting is Oct. 1, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m. on a motion by Nehrig, supported by Smith; motion carried 4-0.
