Board approves multiple policy second reads and revisions, retains BDA edit
Summary

The Governor Wentworth Regional School Board reviewed and approved multiple policy actions during its Jan. 5 meeting.
Dr. Elizabeth Sheckler presented policies EHAG and IKFG as 2nd Reads for adoption and the board approved them. The board also approved a set of policies for reaffirmation (BBA, BBB, BEDH, BHE, CB, CBI, CHD) and approved another set for revision (BCB, BDA, BDC, BEA, CA, ECE, GBD, GBK, IHBH, IHBI) as 2nd Reads. During discussion the board noted NHSBA (New Hampshire School Boards Association) support for striking language that referenced “the adoption of this policy” from policy BCB, and the board agreed to keep an initial edit to policy BDA (meeting called to order by the Superintendent) while striking a second suggested edit (postponed meeting). A motion to amend the previous motion incorporated the BDA edit and passed unanimously.
The board separately approved the withdrawal of policy BCAA as a 2nd Read for withdrawal. All policy votes recorded in the minutes passed unanimously. Members asked for suggested edits to some policies and requested that board members review drafts before final posting.
The minutes record the motions and unanimous votes but do not include the policy text changes in full; the administration will follow up with updated policy documents as approved by the board.
