Town reports progress on Preston Road waterline and pump station; crews nearing connection work

Town staff provided a brief infrastructure update describing recent progress and remaining work on waterline and pump station projects.
Wayne reported crews installed a blow-off on the new mile of waterline on Preston Road and brought in 12 lengths of 12-inch pipe from Public Works for installation. Pipe was installed to a point near the bridge; crews plan to skip the bridge and make a connection on the far side and are coordinating a scheduled bridge crossing. Wayne said he did not yet have written correspondence with a final bridge schedule but that scheduling conversations are active.
At the pump station, staff completed training on the biocide system and pump systems and await delivery of a crane so pumps can be removed or installed as required; punch-list items include painting exposed steel and resolving a couple of fence issues. Wayne said that once a water connection is made the pump station can be connected and fully commissioned.
Board members expressed encouragement and urged the team to complete outstanding items; staff committed to follow-up work and to updating the board when connections are complete.
Next steps: schedule bridge work, secure crane delivery to handle pump work, and complete punch-list items before final commissioning.
