Authority: 21 Green Briar Court lateral overflow blocked by flushable wipes; DEP says not reportable

Manager Edward C. Wagner told the Lower Pottsgrove Township Authority on June 8 that a lateral at 21 Green Briar Court overflowed due to a blockage caused by flushable wipes.
Wagner said the overflow was addressed promptly and that hay and grass seed were placed at the resident’s request; he added DEP confirmed the event was not a reportable sanitary sewer overflow (SSO). Engineer Fred Ebert praised Sewer Operator Tim Watson’s response and said there was no evidence of debris remaining on the property.
Wagner indicated the incident stemmed from a blockage and reiterated that staff will continue to monitor lateral issues; the Authority asked Ebert Engineering to provide a prioritized list of lateral problems so they can address the most serious cases first.
