The Owensville Board of Aldermen held a public hearing Aug. 18 and then adopted Ordinance No. 1481 setting the city—property tax rate for 2025 at 0.7924 per $100 assessed valuation.
City Clerk Peggy Farrell read the city—assessed valuation totals — $46,976,468 for 2025 — and the proposed levy broken out as General Revenue 0.3402 and Debt Service —(Parks) 0.4522. The Board recorded projected FY2025 revenue of $159,814 for General Revenue and $212,428 for Debt Service, a combined total of $372,242.
Mayor Kevin McFadden opened the hearing for public comment; no citizens came forward and the hearing was declared closed. The Board then considered Bill No. 2025-18. Alderman Kramme moved to place the bill on final passage; a roll call vote recorded Aldermen Kramme, Lahmeyer, Breeden and Bohl as aye and the ordinance was adopted.
The adopted 2025 total rate (0.7924) is slightly lower than the previous year—(0.8043) as presented at the hearing. The ordinance text states the rate and establishes its effective date; the Board did not revise the levy amounts at the meeting.
The measure completes the statutory public‑hearing step required before adopting a municipal tax levy and provides the revenue estimates the City will use in next year——s budget planning.
