Alicia Wheeler, speaking on behalf of the Prairie Sunlight Project and 28 landowners, addressed the board about how the proposed solar project could conform to existing county regulations and fit into the community. Resident Tom Weignad of 218 S. Cedar, Ottawa, also offered remarks regarding the project.
Separately, the board approved the consent agenda, which the minutes list as including the meeting minutes from Feb. 4, 2026 and tax change orders in the amount of -$58,930.79. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Commissioner Colton Waymire and (per the minutes) seconded by Commissioner Rod Harris; the record states the motion carried with “All voted ‘yes.’” The roll call earlier in the meeting recorded Vice Chair Rod Harris as absent, a discrepancy between the roll call and later motion text that the minutes do not reconcile.
