Kane County approves tourism board appointments and renews road maintenance agreement with Garfield County

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Kane County Commission approved appointments to the Kane County Tax & Tourism Advisory Board and adopted an updated Cooperative Road Maintenance Agreement with Garfield County.
Commissioners approved Resolution R2026‑4 to reappoint Paul Gagnier and R2026‑5 to appoint Joseph Sorensen and Nancy Sealy to the county’s Tax and Tourism Advisory Board. A commissioner noted there were numerous qualified applicants and encouraged those not selected to continue applying. The appointments are two‑year terms.
The commission also reviewed a Cooperative Road Maintenance Agreement with Garfield County, describing the document as an update to a 2011 agreement that shares maintenance responsibilities for certain B and C roads the counties jointly use. Staff said changes were limited to dates and reference updates and that there were no substantive changes to the agreement; the commission adopted the update unanimously.
These items were adopted without extended debate. Staff will deliver certificates to board members who were not present and will send the updated road agreement to Garfield County for signature.
