Nelson Select Board approves minutes, manifest, timber certification and new dental option

At the March 4 meeting the board approved corrected minutes, the March 4 manifest, the Report of Cut for E. Levy and a Health Trust no-deductible dental plan option; all motions carried 3-0. The board also discussed election sign rules and referred an ICE-police-training letter to the Police Chief.
The Nelson Select Board approved a suite of routine items during its March 4 meeting.
Selectman Michael Blaudschun moved to approve the minutes of Feb. 25, 2026 (as amended to correct dates); Brenna Kucinski seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Blaudschun then moved to approve the manifest for March 4, 2026; Kucinski seconded and the motion carried 3-0. The board approved a Report of Cut and Timber Certification for E. Levy by the same 3-0 vote; Edie reported that this was the final timber cut for the 2025–2026 tax year and that this was the first year all Reports of Cut were received on time.
Health Trust presented a dental option with no deductible that would increase premiums by $0.68 per month for single coverage and $1.60 per month for family coverage. Brenna Kucinski moved to approve the plan, Michael Blaudschun seconded, and the motion carried 3-0.
The board reviewed an email from T. Buttrick about political posters that may violate election rules; state election officials have ruled the signs must be removed but board members described the law as confusing. The Select Board also received a letter from J. Alexander raising concerns about "ICE" training for the police department and agreed to ask the Police Chief for his view before taking a position. The board set its next meeting for March 10, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Library during Town Elections and adjourned at 4:52 PM.
