The Mississippi State Board of Architecture on April 16 approved several administrative items, including a proposed office lease extension, certificate approvals, conference attendance and meeting scheduling.
Executive Director John Cothron presented a proposed lease extension extending the board's office lease to Oct. 31, 2030. Richard H. McNeel moved and Leigh Jaunsen seconded a motion to approve the proposed extension; the board approved it unanimously, subject to final approval by the Public Procurement Review Board.
The board also approved certificates issued since January 2025 (the minutes attach a list of individual license actions). By motion the board designated Jimmy Sullivan and John Cothron to attend the Building Officials Association of Mississippi Summer Conference in Gulfport (June 9–13, 2025) and authorized a booth and attendance for the AIA Mississippi Convention Oct. 1–3, 2025. Members affirmed July 22, 2025, as the next meeting with July 23 reserved for formal hearings and authorized staff to explore Gulf Coast options for the Oct. 21–22 meeting site.
All administrative motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 2:09 PM.
