LAAC approves January minutes, issues certificates and consent agreement; designates CLARB attendees

The Mississippi Landscape Architecture Advisory Committee (LAAC) on April 8, 2026, in Ridgeland approved the January 2026 meeting minutes, ratified certificates issued since January, and approved a consent agreement resolving a late continuing-education report.
The committee voted unanimously to approve the January minutes on a motion by Jon Milstead seconded by Robert Mercier. Members then voted unanimously (motion by Milstead, seconded by Brantley Snipes) to approve landscape-architect certificates issued since January 2026; the meeting record lists Paul Devitto III (License 810, 2/11/2026, reciprocity), Bryan Paul Janhsen (License 811, 2/20/2026, reciprocity), and Bang Shon (License 809, 1/22/2026, reciprocity) among the approvals.
Executive Director John Cothron reported on a late continuing-education complaint (Case #2026-1). Cothron said the respondent reported late continuing-education hours and signed a consent agreement that provides for a private letter of admonition and payment of a fine. The committee approved the consent agreement on a motion by Robert Mercier, seconded by Brantley Snipes; the motion passed unanimously.
The committee also voted unanimously to designate up to three landscape-architect members and the Executive Director to attend the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) Annual Meeting in Calgary, Aug. 27–29, 2026 (motion by Snipes, seconded by Milstead). Members agreed to change the next LAAC meeting date from Aug. 5 to July 8, 2026 (motion by Chair Alan Hoops, seconded by Ms. Snipes); that motion passed unanimously.
The meeting record shows the session adjourned at 11:30 a.m. and that the minutes were prepared by Executive Director John Cothron on April 9, 2026.
