Staff said a conditional use permit request for 612 West Street (Montana Towing) has been prepared, neighbor letters were mailed and a public notice will appear in the paper; findings of fact will be presented to the Bland Use Board on Feb. 17.
On the Johnson Creek Trailhead Connector, staff described plans to connect the I‑90 trailhead past Hunters and extend sidewalks by Panorama Meadows, and said rough cost estimates will be provided to Amanda, who is preparing a grant application. The work would include new sidewalks and ADA accessibility where feasible.
Staff said they are heavily involved in arena remodeling at the fairgrounds and have discussed septic-system options with county commissioners. Options include constructing a separate holding tank tied into the treatment facility with metering or pursuing land application of sludge; staff noted Representative Fitzpatrick has been contacted regarding potential grant support.
Financial housekeeping items were also discussed. Staff reported about $156,000 in outstanding DNRC reimbursements from the prior year and said roughly $12,000–$15,000 will be submitted for groundwater remediation reimbursement. Staff said they are reconciling invoices and will submit outstanding claims.
